Can We Be Honest With God?
O Lord, you have examined my heart
and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
You see me when I travel
and when I rest at home.
You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
PSALM 139:1-4 (NLT)
Can we be honest with God?
Yes! We not only can be honest with Him, we must be, because honesty opens the doors of communication. Besides, He knows it all anyway! He knows your thoughts as they are still forming; He knows your words before they leave your tongue. Even so, He invites us to pour out the contents of our hearts to Him as King David proclaimed in Psalm 62:8 “O my people, trust in Him at all times. Pour out your heart to Him, for God is our refuge.”
God has great compassion on those who seek Him.
He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.
How great is our Lord! His power is absolute!
His understanding is beyond comprehension!
PSALM 147:3-5 (NLT)
