Encouragement From The Classics

As Pharaoh approached,
the people of Israel looked up and panicked
when they saw the Egyptians overtaking them.
They cried out to the Lord, and they said to Moses,
“Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness?
Weren’t there enough graves for us in Egypt?
But Moses told the people, “Do not be afraid.
Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today.
The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again.
The Lord will fight for you. Just stay calm.”
EXODUS 14:10-11, 13-14 (NLT)

How did God bring about the miracle of the Red Sea? By shutting His people in on every side, so that there was no way out but the Divine Way. The Egyptians were behind them, the sea was in front of them, the mountains were on every side of them. There was no escape but from above.

Someone has said that the devil can wall us in, but he can’t roof us over. We can always get out at the top. Our difficulties are but God’s challenges, and He makes them so hard, often, that we must go under or get above them.

“I have told you all this
so that you may have peace in me.
Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows.
But take heart,
because I have overcome the world.”
JOHN 16:33 WORDS OF JESUS (NLT)
