Dave's Update

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes,
and there will be no more death
or sorrow or crying or pain.
All these things are gone forever.”
And the one sitting on the throne said,
“Look, I am making everything new!”
And then he said to me, “Write this down,
for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.”
REVELATION 21:4-5 (NLT)

Many of you have inquired about Lyndsey who I had the privilege of baptizing, along with her family, four weeks ago at our home. Lyndsey was diagnosed when she was only 15 years old and she had been valiantly battling ovarian cancer and all of the side effects of the treatments for the past three years.

Well, Lyndsey’s valiant battle has ended as she was called peacefully Home to the arms of Jesus in Heaven on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. “There will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain” for Lyndsey. Lyndsey knew where she was going as she excitedly and fearlessly shouted to the many loved ones that surrounded her Hospice bed the day before, “I love everyone! I am going to see Jesus!”

While her family is greatly grieving their loss, Lyndsey’s parting words left them all in awe and brought them great peace in the midst of their pain. They are relieved that she is no longer suffering and that they know they will be reunited with her once again in eternity. The Hope of Eternal life is what Easter is all about – Jesus rose again from the dead and conquered death forevermore for all His children who believe. This is why we celebrate Resurrection Sunday and we no longer need to fear death.

Since the children are made of flesh and blood,
it’s logical that the Savior took on flesh and blood
in order to rescue them by his death.
By embracing death, taking into account himself,
he destroyed the Devil’s hold on death
and freed all who cower through life,
scared to death of death.
HEBREWS 2:14-15 (THE MESSAGE)

Please continue to pray for Lyndsey’s family. Lyndsey’s difficult journey has left them emotionally and financially exhausted and drained.

Holding on to the promise …

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
and no mind has imagined
what God has prepared
for those who love him.”
1 CORINTHIANS 2:9 (NLT)
