Endurance for the Journey, Featured

So this is what the Sovereign Lord says;
“See, I lay a stone in Zion,
a tested stone,
a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation;
the one who trusts will never be dismayed.”
ISAIAH 28:16 (NIV)

Isaiah was talking about Jesus when he wrote Isaiah 28:16. This means you have a heavenly Father who loves you and cares for you deeply. Ask Him to help you find the supportive friendships, the family you need. He may use long-lost relatives, neighbors, a support group, your local church or friends to provide comfort and encouragement. But the most important friend is the Lord.

The Bible elsewhere describes Him as “close to the brokenhearted” (Psalm 34:18) and the “friend who sticks closer than a brother” (Proverbs 18:24). So invite Him into your home. Allow Him to fill your heart with peace, grace, mercy and love. He has promised to “never leave you or forsake you” (Joshua 1:5). If you trust in Him you will “never be dismayed.”

Scripture reassures us,
“No one who trusts God like this –
heart and soul – will ever regret it.”
It’s exactly the same no matter what
a person’s religious background may be:
the same God for all of us,
acting the same incredibly generous way
to everyone who calls out for help.
“Everyone who calls,
‘Help, God!’ gets help.”
ROMANS 10:11-13 (THE MESSAGE)
